Whole Window Performance Leads to Greater Energy Efficiency

WHOLE WINDOW PERFORMANCE LEADS TO GREATER ENERGY EFFICIENCY

Whole window performance is the true test of replacement windows’ energy efficiency. We can attest to this, having built and installed thousands of replacement windows as a leading window replacement contractor. Take a look at the elements that make up the whole window performance that Renewal by Andersen® is known for.

Window Performance

Glass

The biggest challenge to creating energy-efficient windows is the glass. There are two major challenges that traditional windows present. The first is that glass naturally conducts heat, making it a virtual freeway for heat loss. The second is that you can’t use conventional insulation on it. The most effective solution is dual-panel glass, where a vacuum airspace sits between two glass panels. Without air molecules as a medium, heat stays where it should be: outside during summer, and inside during winter.

This dual panel design is a standard feature of every Renewal by Andersen High-Performance™ Low-E4® glass option. Combined with a nonconductive spacer and multiple layers of a low-emissivity coating that prevents solar heat gain, it contributes to what makes our window replacement units energy-efficient.

Frame

Renewal by Andersen replacement window frames are made of our patented Fibrex® material, a composite of wood fiber and polymer, combining the strength and stability of wood with the low-maintenance benefits of vinyl. Fibrex material’s insulation is on par with traditional wood frames, but without the latter’s vulnerability to moisture and temperature changes. Together with our High-Performance Low-E4 glass options, they form truly energy-efficient replacement windows.

Professional Installation

Even the best replacement windows won’t perform as expected if not installed properly. We invest in hiring only the best installers and put them through rigorous training and certification classes before they can install their first Renewal by Andersen replacement window. We’re so confident of our installers’ skills that our Transferable Limited Warranty includes a 5-year installation coverage.

All three factors add up to the superior whole window performance of our replacement windows.
