    American Colonial
    There are many variations of this home style, but Atlanta prefers the simple beauty of Cape Cod homes. The architecture is characterized by a steep or gabled roof, a rectangular body and a simple front. A big central chimney is also a prominent feature, typically flanked by dormer windows on each side. Windows are also positioned on either side of the entry door, achieving a clean and symmetrical look.

    Double-hung windows Atlanta homeowners love are ideal for this type of house. The narrow units fit nicely in dormers. They look attractive in rows of two or three on either side of the entry door. These units also provide maximum ventilation and visibility. The sashes move up or down smoothly to let in fresh air. Even when closed, they let in a good deal of natural light, making spaces look brighter and more spacious.

    Victorian
    Regal Queen Anne homes are the essence of the Victorian style. They’re known for an asymmetrical design featuring complex towers, elongated porches and scalloped shingles. Picking out windows for this design is rather tricky, but you can install bow, bay or circle bay windows to add just the right amount of drama to complement this ornate home design.

    Craftsman Bungalow
    Artistic, charming and interesting in its own right, the Craftsman home emerged from the British Arts and Crafts movement. It’s most famous for wainscoting and molding, as well as wood, stone or stucco-clad walls. Other design variations feature a porch with round or tapered columns to emphasize the home’s low structural profile.

    Casement windows suit this style very well. Bold color combinations also go well with Craftsman houses. If you have a red brick trim, for example, you can get away with using either deep greens or dark bronzes on the framing.
